Associate Professor Andrew Dodd is the Director of the Centre for Advancing Journalism at the University of Melbourne. He was a broadcaster at ABC Radio National, where he presented several programs and founded the long running Media Report program and was a reporter at ABC TV’s 730 Report.
Andrew has been a media and business writer at The Australian newspaper, a reporter and presenter at Radio Netherlands and a media writer for Crikey.com.au, as well as a freelancer for numerous other publications.
In his academic life he was the director of the journalism program at Swinburne University and is currently a chief investigator on two New Beats research projects funded by the Australian Research Council. He has a PhD in history from the University of Melbourne and currently co-presents the Media Files Podcast on the Conversation.
