PIJI’s latest ‘Australian News Data Report‘ has recorded six market changes in August, five of which related to a series of contractions of Australian Community Media mastheads in New South Wales’s Tablelands.
As of August, the Australian News Index lists 1,232 print, digital, radio and television news outlets.
An August sample of Goulburn and surrounds in New South Wales found very high levels of public interest journalism at all outlets, with a strong focus on ‘community’ stories, led by local newspapers, followed by ‘government’ stories, led by the ABC newsrooms.
