17 changes to outlet records were also made to the database, including the addition of The Blackwood Times (Vic), East Gippsland News Weekend, Moree Online News, Melville City Herald, and Village Voice (Inner North), and the removal of The Blackwood Times (SA) and Bondi View.
As of September 2024, the Australian News Index lists 1,226 print, digital, radio and television news outlets.

The September report also includes the latest quarterly news market data, showing 358 contractions and 174 expansions this quarter, translating to a negative variance of -184 since January 2019.
