Associate Professor Andrew Dodd is the Director of the Centre for Advancing Journalism at the University of Melbourne. He was a broadcaster at ABC Radio National, where he presented several programs and founded the long running Media Report program.
Andrew has been a reporter at ABC TV’s 730 Report and a media and business writer at The Australian newspaper. He was also a reporter and presenter at Radio Netherlands and a media writer for Crikey.com.au, as well as a freelancer for numerous other publications.
In his academic life, he has a PhD in history from the University of Melbourne and was the director of the journalism program at Swinburne University. He is the co-editor of Upheaval: Disrupted Lives in Journalism, based on research for the ARC New Beats project. He is the founding editor of The Junction, which brings over 25 university journalism programs together across the region to collaborate on reporting projects.
