Leslie Falkiner-Rose (on leave)

Leslie, one of PIJI’s founders, is an experienced journalist and author who now focuses on strategic communications and collaborative educational, social and cultural change initiatives.

In 1977, Leslie joined The Age as a cadet journalist before becoming a radio and television reporter for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. From 1990, she freelanced as a reporter and producer for many Australian and international media organisations before writing non-fiction books, contributing to true crime book compilations, consulting on media and philanthropy and creating digital content for a diverse range of clients. She is currently head of strategic communications for the Australian Business Deans Council, which represents Australia’s university business schools.

Leslie, who holds a Masters in Philanthropy and Social Investment, is a Trustee of the Ruffin Falkiner Foundation and a member of the Advisory Board of the Master of Social Impact at Swinburne University. She also serves on the Advisory Committee of Economic Media Centre and the Advocacy and Support Board Committee for WEHI (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research).

Leslie is currently on a leave of absence from her position on PIJI’s board, effective from 30 November 2023.
