Survey: news coverage of local government
A new survey examining current levels of media reporting on council activities is seeking participation from LGA communications staff, elected officials or management .
Responses will help to inform our knowledge of the provision of public interest journalism on Australia’s local governments. Closing date: 5pm, Friday, October 14.

Australian Newsroom Mapping Project: August report
The Australian Newsroom Mapping Project’s August report has been released.
The recently released radio and television data, is open for feedback until Monday 31 October.
Pilot program begins building qualitative news data
A PIJI pilot project, Health Check on Local News has begun analyzing levels of core news (such as court and local government reporting) in selected LGAs.
Monthly sampling and data releases will take place between now and December. Read about the pilot and other current PIJI projects in our blog.
