Recent Inquiry Submissions

Digital Platforms Inquiry

The final report of the ACCC’s Digital Platforms Inquiry recognises the significant value of public interest journalism and of the need to protect it, including quotes from PIJI’s original submission. Some of PIJI’s submitted ideas were reflected in the final recommendations in Chapter Six: Choice and quality of news and journalism. Read the ACCC’s full report.

Treasury is currently consulting industry to inform the Australian Government’s response to the ACCC final report.

Senate Press Freedom Inquiry

The Senate Standing Committees on Environment and Communications are conducting an inquiry into the laws protecting whistleblowers.

We will appear before the Committee at a public hearing on 18 October.
